Festival of Books

We heard about the Festival of Books at UCLA from Uncle Alan because The Doodlebops were going to perform there. Since we weren't doing anything we decided to take Makayla out there to check it out. Plus she so into her books lately. Also a quick update that she knows all her ABC's already and it's from her books that she reads and the famous Alphabet song. We couldn't believe the crowd that this book festival draws. We read that it brings in over 100,000 people. We did make it to the Target stage where they had all the performers for the kids. There were authors signing books and all kinds of fun things going on, but it was a super hot day!

Makayla had to sit on Daddy's shoulders to see the big Doodlebops show and boy was she boppin' on Dad. Daddy's poor neck!

The Doodlebops in action! We just saw them not too long ago and boy our seats were way better then, but what do we expect for free. It was fun for Makayla to see them again since she just absolutely loves them! They did a nice job being in their hot costumes outside.

We stuck around and checked out some of the book stands after The Doodlebops sang, had some lunch and then got to see Johnny and the Sprites. Another show from Disney that Makayla watches. She likes them a lot too!

On our way out we saw the famous Bruin and Makayla had to stand in front of it to send to Uncle Binh since this is where he graduated from for Medical School. He was so proud! It was a really nice campus!

Jordan's 2nd Birthday

It was Makayla's friend Jordan's 2nd birthday party today at our Summerlane Clubhouse. She's a friend that Makayla met at our community park with Grandma since they go almost everyday. Jordan's Grandma's also watch her everyday so they have a lot in common. Her party was real nice and Makayla got to see some of her other friends from the park too. They had lots of activities as you'll see below. They served us yummy food from The Loft. Her Grandma made wonderful homemade cookies too that looked professional and tasted professional too. What a treat!

Here's Makayla and her friend Marley in the big bounce house. It was fun! The parents even went in with the kids.

That's Jordan the birthday girl in her pretty dress and Makayla after they got their cool balloons from the clown.

Some of the kids outside by the bounce house playing some games with the clown. I think it's magic time right now.

Smile for the camera while the clown paints a pretty butterfly on Makayla's arm. Sit still.

It's time to sing Happy Birthday and have cake! Makayla just loves to sing Happy Birthday and blow out candles! Thanks for inviting us to such a fun party. Even Grandma joined us and had a great time!

Pregnancy Portraits

We decided to do pregnancy portraits with the pregnancy. My friend Melanie's wedding photographer was referred to us to do these. Plus Janai my sis in law also talked me into it. I didn't even think about doing these when I was pregnant with Makayla. It's one of those things that I guess I can't do again if we decide not to get pregnant again. I'm usually not one to show my tummy but this wasn't so bad. I did feel a little weird and awkward, but they actually turned out okay and I think the memories of me being pregnant will be in these photos forever. They are shots that I wouldn't of thought of at all. It was nice of Meghan to come to our house for this private photo shoot. I'm currently at 33-weeks preggies here.

This photo was one of our favorites. It's a heart made with my hands and Ry's on my preggies tummy.

And of course I had to have one with Big Sis Makayla kissing her soon to be Baby Sister! Too cute! She really enjoyed the photo shoot with us.

Thai New Year's

Auntie Som invited us over to their place today to celebrate Thai New Year's. She's a great cook and made some really yummy homemade Thai cuisine. The grandparents from both sides were there to help celebrate too, along with Ed, Grace & their twins & my cousins Alyssa & Alexis's family. Auntie Som had a few of her friends over too. It was lots of fun and really hot day!

Here's Daddy & Makayla holding Ethan for the 1st time. Makayla wasn't even jealous when her Daddy was holding another baby, think she's going to be a good big sis! Actually this was the 1st time we got to meet the Chow twins since they were born in February. Bad friends! It's been really hard since we've been sick off & on and then timing has also been to get together, but we're glad we finally had the opportunity. They are too cute!

Auntie Grace, Makayla & Haley the better half of the twins! j/k. Can you tell we're partial to little girls! Thanks Som for having us all over for some yummy Thai food and to help celebrate your New Year's!

Mel's Bachelorette Party!

It's getting closer to Mel's big day! We're celebrating her bachelorette party today at our favorite girl spot, Glen Ivy Hot Springs! We've gotten over the crazy bachelorette parties out in Las Vegas! Thank goodness! It was such a perfect day to be lounging around at the spa! For you girls that have not had a chance to experience it, gotta try it soon!

Here's me at 9 months preggies with the soon to be Mrs. Reeves! I picked her up and we carpooled there together. We're going to have such a fun day!

Here we all are waiting in line for lunch. The line was so long so we killed some time with some photos. There was only a few of us since Mel wanted to keep this small and only with her closest girlfriends! We had a blast with the usual crew out at GI!

All dressed and ready to head out to dinner after a relaxing day!

That's one big drink! Suck it up Mel! We're having teppan yaki at Shogun out in Escondido.

Here we are at dinner Stacy, me, Bons & Mel. We're all her bridesmaids. Missing Melissa who lives in Oklahoma & Kelly in Canada. We had a nice time at dinner and then we called it full day! We were all pooped from being in the sun all day too. Hope Mel enjoyed her girls day before her big day! It was mellow but totally fun & relaxing!

Duckies 1st Round Playoffs, again!

Here we are again watching the Ducks in the playoffs! Wonder if they can win the cup 2 years in a row? We're so excited to be seeing them again since last year's playoffs were all so exciting and so much fun! What a thrill! Not so much this year! Here we are watching them play Dallas and we got creamed! It was 4-0. So sad! But let's keep positive!

Makayla having a good time with her Daddy! All Duckie geared up!

We took Mama to the game with us too! Hope she had fun!

Phantom of the Opera

We took my parents to see Phantom of the Opera tonight at the Orange County Performing Arts Center. What a busy, busy day! First it was my baby shower in the morning then Mia's 3rd birthday party and now a show.....we're nuts, but what's new! This was my Dad's birthday gift from August of last year from us & my brother & Janai. He'd never seen it before and we all thought he'd really enjoy it and he did! So did Mom too! We've seen it before but it was way back when Ry & I first started dating so probably about 10-years ago. It was a nice evening out with my parents and no Makayla. Kind of strange to be without her. Thanks to the Arakaki's for watching her that evening so we could have an adult evening out.

Mia's 3rd Birthday!

Right after Mommy's baby shower we headed over to my friend Mia's 3rd birthday party. It was at her grandma Pam's house and boy was it a treat! She gave us all little pink tank tops that had our names on it in sparkle letters. Grandma Pam's house is great, she has all kinds of toys for kids so it was the perfect entertainment spot. We were then treated with a petting zoo & pony ride. You'll see some pictures below of all this good stuff.

Makayla holding on to her older friend Rachee in the petting zoo because she's a little scared of being in there with all the animals. She's kinda chicken when it comes to stuff like this. She loves it from the outside looking in but once she's in she's real hesitant.

Makayla is riding on the pretty pony escorted by her cousin Alyssa. That's Mason on the bigger pony.

She's riding again? This time with birthday girl Mia! I guess she really liked the pony ride after all! We didn't think she'd get on it.

Mia blowing out the candles on her birthday cake! Yum!

Yee Haw! The 3 girlie's and their cowboy hats! Too cute! Happy Birthday Mia! Thanks for including us at your party!

Diaper & Wipes Baby Shower for #2

My wonderful girlfriends put together a really nice & small diaper & wipes baby shower for me at No Ka Oi this morning. Really it was just my Mom's and my 8 closest girlfriends since I really didn't want anything at all since it's my 2nd and we have everything from our 1st. And everyones schedule is so hectic too! But thank you so much for making this happen somehow for me! You gals are all the best! The breakfast here was really Ono! Great choice too!

Here I am with my little Makayla. I think she's ready for her little sis! She's going to be such a good big sis! We can't wait!

Everyone is in full concentration with this game that Janai brought to the table. Everyone had a few minutes to make a baby out of one piece of bubble gum. Interesting?!

Well here are the final results! Patty was the big winner with the cutest bubble gum baby!

Makayla and her buddy Rachee! They were both such good girls at breakfast!

Wow! Isn't this the best looking pastry ever! I couldn't believe how beautiful it was! It came all the way up from Binh & Janai's wedding bakery in San Diego! It not only looked good but tasted fabu too! Flaky pastry with fresh peaches on the inside! Yum, yum! Thanks for lugging that up her for us Janai! You're the best sis in law ever!

Bolsa Chica Wetlands

Makayla got to visit the Bolsa Chica wetlands today with Grandma & Grandpa Arakaki. It was kind of a gloomy day but not too cold and not too warm. She really enjoyed seeing all the birdies! Mama & Papa really enjoy taking her to all these fun outdoor activities! She's such a nature girl and loves to be out with all kinds of animals!

Makayla with Papa in front of the wetland signs.
Papa even brought some binoculars for Makayla to use. So cute that she's actually using it! I wonder if she saw the birdies better with them? Thank you Mama & Papa for taking me to my 1st visit at the wetlands! I had lots of fun! Can't wait to go see all the birdies again soon!
