Mylee's 3-month old Portraits

We took Mylee for her 3-month old portraits today at Kiddie Kandids.  They did such a nice job and pretty much all of Makayla's 1st year portraits and we plan to do the same for Mylee.  She was a little tougher at smiling than Makayla was at this age.  I even gave up and brought her back a little later on in the day to see if she would change, but not so much.  It's okay, they're still super cute!
Here's Mylee's little super model pose!

A close up shot of our cutie pie!

Of course Big Sis wanted to be in a picture too and this is their very first portraits together.  Mylee doesn't seem too comfy but it's the best we could do and we still think they're just darling together!

Mylee's 3-months w/ Mr. Pooh Bear

Mylee is 3 months old today! She's weighing in at 12lbs and 22 inches long. She's getting so big and growing way too fast for us! Her neck is getting stronger and stronger. She's cooing a lot too! Her hair is starting to slowly come in now and no longer falling out. I think that's about it for this month!

Here is Mylee with her Mr. Pooh Bear.
We've been giving her a lot more tummy time and she seem to like it better on the Boppy pillow then flat on the cushion.
Bis sister has to be in front of the camera action too! She's mimicking Mylee on the Boppy that silly girl!

San Diego Scrap Expo

Some of the scrap girls decided to go to the Scrap Expo in San Diego today.  It was kind of a last minute deal since we said we'd only go to one once a year since we all spend way too much money!  Well, we broke our rule and so glad we did because it was so much fun and seemed so much mellower than the Costa Mesa show.  It was less crowded and we got to do a lot more make and take things which we've never done before!

Here are some of the Scrap Queens doing a make & take.  They were super cute!

Makayla's 2nd Haircut

Makayla gets her 2nd haircut by our next door neighbor Kellie.  We just did the specialty haircut place for kids for her first cut but didn't feel it really necessary for the future ones, especially since we know a stylist.  Makayla knows her real well and once I told her Kellie was going to cut her hair next she kept asking and asking so we finally took her.  It was perfect so that she would have a nice fresh haircut before her fall season at school started.  We wanted to go short so that it would be out of her way, but it was real hard to go super duper short.  Funny story though when we got to the salon that was right around the corner from our house that it was the same salon that I went to with all my bridesmaids to get our hair & make up done for my wedding over 6-years ago.  Small world!  I even asked if the guy that was the wedding specialist still worked there and he did.  I'll have to refer him to Som for her upcoming wedding next year.

Makayla sat so still and was such a good girl for Kellie.  She had a nice little booster chair and special mermaid barbers cape.
Like my new haircut?  Kellie did such a fantastic job for her!  She was so happy and even got a yummy lollipop afterwards.  Thanks Kel!  We'll definitely come back and see you again once Mak's hair gets too long again.

Sing-A-Long

I got an email from Pottery Barn Kids about their sing-a-longs at the store and thought Makayla would enjoy it so we had Grandma take her just to change up their weekly routine a bit.  She invited her friend Jordan to join her since they always go to storytime at the library together.  It must be hit since it was really crowded.

Jordan & Makayla waiting to ride the carousel at the mall.  Not sure if they rode before or after the sing-a-long.  Not sure who's showing who the ropes today.  Makayla's a pro at this but Jordan might be and we don't know it.
After the sing-a-long the girls were really attracted to their kitchen set.  I heard they had trouble tearing Jordan away from it since she has a little kitchen set at home and loves it!
I think Grandma is now in love with the kitchen too and someone might get one if they're a good girl this year for Christmas maybe.  Hopefully we can talk Grandma into a more reasonably priced one and not the PB one since it's really, really ridiculously expensive.  Thanks Grandma for taking Makayla today!  She just loves singing all her little songs so this was perfect for her!

Mylee's Bathtime

Just had to show you how cute little Mylee is during her bath time, she just loves her baths!  I think she's going  to be quite the water baby also like her big sis Makayla.  I still can't get over how identical the two girls are.  If I put a baby picture of Makayla next to Mylee I might not be able to tell which one is which.

As Makayla would say "Big Tummy!"

Irvine Regional Park

We headed out to this park that we thought was in Irvine but apparently it wasn't when we looked it all up, but we went anyways since we promised Makayla a train ride and pony ride.  Grandma Arakaki found it somehow and told us to try it so we did.  It's out in Orange and is one of the oldest parks in our area.

Here's train conductor Mak welcoming you!
The neat train that goes around the park so you can explore all the things to do here.  They have this train ride, a zoo, paddle boats, pony rides and nice areas for picnics and BBQ.
Makayla & Daddy getting ready for their train ride to depart.  Mommy & Mylee stayed back to enjoy the nice day since we had the stroller and it was too pricey for all of us to ride the train when it was really just for Makayla to enjoy.  Choo, choo!

This was the big reason for us to come here.  The ponies!  Makayla has really been into them lately.  There's a place that she's horses at across from the library so she's always asking about them so I think that's why Grandma looked around for her.  She was a little scared at first but then had a lot of fun!  It was a really hot day out in Orange so we just did these few things and headed home to cool off!

Swim Lesson Wrap

Today is Makayla's last swim lesson for the summer with Miss. Brianna. She's made so much progress since her very 1st lesson but we realize that she's real young. She's very comfortable in the pool and loves to play in the water. She can now blow bubbles under water and is okay with it getting her head all the way under water. She also kicks her feet pretty well too. So maybe next year we'll make even bigger progress. We're very proud of her and Miss. Brianna was fantastic with her!

After every swim lesson Ry pretty much stayed with her in the pool for a little longer to play and practice some more. She started hanging out all on her own in her little fishy inter tube and kick her feet to swim all around. She'd even jump in it too. I wish I was able to capture that on video but she's too quick! Here is a little clip of her Daddy throwing her way up high! Check out her form! It's scores a perfect 10 for form & height!

Mylee was pretty much out at every swim lesson that Makayla had.  Here's one of our favorite pictures while in her stroller waiting for her big sis.  One of her biggest smiles and out loud laughs!  So cute!

Aidan's 1st Birthday

Today was Aidan's 1st Birthday Party down in San Diego.  He's Auntie Bonnie's little guy.  Can't believe he's ONE already!  Time is surely passing by so quickly.  It was a great little Sesame Street themed party at their clubhouse.  We had so much fun helping Aidan celebrate this big day!  Thanks for inviting us!
Here's the little making such a fun mess!  He dug right on in!  I remember wanting Makayla to dig in on her birthday but our little girl is just too clean and wasn't into making a mess.
This is as messy as she gets with some cake around her mouth.  Must have been some blue frosting.

Two little monkeys sitting in a tree, one fell down and you'll never catch me!  Makayla climbing her first tree with her buddy Rachael.  Such big girls!

M&M's 1st Angel game this year

This was Makayla's first Angel baseball game this year and Mylee's very 1st Angel game ever!  I think Mylee is much younger at her first Angel game than Makayla was.  Daddy got them tickets to go see Big Bang Friday!  We had great seats way up high but they were right behind home plate...perfect for fireworks.  The game started out fine and our M&M's were great until close to the 6th or 7th inning it all went downhill.  I had Mylee in her sling and she got fussy so I had to go check to see if she needed a diaper change.  At the same time Makayla wanted to also come up with me.  Ry took her a little bit afterwards but then she just wanted me and was having a meltdown.  We couldn't take it anymore and had to leave.  Amazing that, this is seriously the very 1st sporting event we've ever had to leave because our girls were fussy.  And if you know us we've taken especially Makayla to a ton of different sporting events!  Probably more than some of you have ever been to.  So in the end we ended up missing all the fireworks.  Boo hoo!  Sorry Uncle Phil.

Our Angel Girls before the game.  Mylee's little Angel outfit is Makayla's hand me down.  Putting to good use and getting our monies worth!

Having some pizza & beer with Daddy & Uncle Phil.  Yummy!

The 3 Angel girls!

Makayla Sings ABC's

Check out this video of Makayla singing her ABC's.  She's been able to do this now for at least 4-months and we finally got a good and clear sounding video of it.  This is her own little karaoke system for kids that she got for her birthday from Vinny.  It's made by V-Tech Smile and has lots of neat learning games also for her that we haven't quite discovered.  Everytime we turn it on she seems to just enjoy the songs so that's all we do.

Look What I Made

Makayla's friends Allie & Katie invited her to a neat little place in Long Beach called "Look What I Made" today.  You pay a little fee that's real reasonable and you can do all the crafts that they have set up for up to three hours as many times as you want.  There's painting, coloring, water colors, self portraits, stenciling, etc. etc.  The projects change daily also.  There's also an additional fee if you want to do bigger more specific projects that they have on display.  We just did the basics today and Makayla loved it!  It kept her quite busy and she's really crafty.  She really enjoyed the painting on the easel the most.  After a bit she was tired of the crafts and they had a play area with a kitchen and some slides and puzzles that kept the kids busy too.  It was also fun for Mom to hang out and chat with all the other moms.
Makayla painting away on the easel!  Love it that the painting mess is here and not at our house!

Allie & Makayla painting together.  Thanks for inviting us!  We had so much fun and this is definitely a place we'll be coming back to!

The Sassone Family Visits

We had a little get together at the house today with the Sassone's because Auntie Amy was visiting from Hawaii to take her grand daughter Chelsea to Hawaii for college.  They also wanted to visit our newest addition Mylee!  They are Ryan's cousins.  All the kids had so much fun since they come from a family of 7 kids!  Amazing!

All the kids started off in Makayla's playroom the garage.  We closed off our gate and they all had lots of room to play with the bikes, balls & toys, toys, toys!
Some of the kids having a blast with the bubbles!  It was all soooo soapy!
Now it's time to rest and have a snack after all the play.  How 'bout a little tea party?
Now it's time to play with the princesses!
The kids all discovered Makayla's room and the trampoline bed.  They were having so much fun but I didn't want anyone to get hurt so the jumping had to stop.  So they were all playing nicely with all the dolls and toys in Makayla's room on the bed still which was fine, but then we still had an accident with Ciara.  She fell off the bed somehow and ended up breaking her wrist. We're so sorry that this happened.   I guess you just can't prevent everything even though you try.  We're just glad she's being such a good sport about it.  Hope you get better soon Ciara!  Thanks for all coming over to play!  Makayla had so much fun with her cousins!

Carylann Visits

Carylann finally got a chance to come visit Baby Mylee.  We've been both kind of playing tag for the last few months.  It was so sweet of her to come and visit us.  She was extra special that Mylee woke up for her and she was even able to get a picture with her.  What a treat!  She came over with a big giant gift bag for Mylee!  It was a Bumbo seat to help her learn how to sit up on her own.  We also got a little blankie plush toy.

Thanks for the Visit C!

Apple it is.....

Today was a big day.  My Dell laptop is ready to go "bye, bye" and performing real poorly so I really converted to the other side!  I went and got an Apple Mac Pro!  First it was the iPhone and now the real deal with all of it!  I'm very excited about my conversion and can't wait to try it all out.  I've heard great things about it!  It's pretty cool so far where I use this software called Fusion to split the MacPro and have the windows PC capabilities also.  I need this to VPN in to use it for work purposes.

Dave Crow Concert at the Park

The girls ended the library summer reading program with a concert at the park with Dave Crow. He was pretty good. He sang some silly songs for the kids and did some nursery rhymes & some classic folk songs too. Makayla had a few extra tickets so she took her friend Jordan & her Grandma.

Makayla hanging out on her blanket with her buddy Jordan. They're enjoying the nice day out at the park.
Mak & Mommy right before the concert just chillin'
Here's a little glimse of one of Dave Crows songs which happens to be about Makayla's favorite fish that she discovered in Hawaii this year.  She laughs every time Grandpa says it since it's such a long and silly name.....the Humuhumunukunukuapua'a.  Toward the end of this video is Jordan rockin' out!  She loved it and we're so glad she could join us!
The girls in action rockin' out to Dave Crow! The screams are just too funny! Makayla is so excited!
After a fun filled day at the concert at the park Makayla got her favorite shave ice treat from Grandma! She's so happy!

Stuck in a Bucket

What a silly girl stuck in her school bucket!  I've fallen and I can't get out!  Mommy, please help me instead of taking a picture of me.

Ryan turns 33!

Today we celebrated Ryan & my Dad's actual birthday.  We just did a small dinner and cake at home with the family.

The Ngoai's & their M&M girls!
Baby Mylee & her Big Sis Makayla wishing Daddy & Ong Ngoai a Happy Birthday!
Ryan and his girls on his birthday!  What a cute Daddy's girls picture!

Makayla always helping to blow out candles!  Grandma Arakaki made this special lemon bunt cake for them.  I think they have both had a great long birthday celebration all week!  What special guys!

Storytime at the Library

Makayla goes to Story time at the library almost every Tuesday with Grandma Arakaki.  She meets her friend Jordan & her Grandma Shen there.  They have a real nice time together.  Makayla has been going almost all summer and got into their reading program which was great for her.  She now understands how to check out books from the library go home and read and then return for some new ones.  She is even picking out her own books to check out now.  She looks forward to the library almost every week.  Then afterwards the Grandma's will take the girls out to a fun lunch.

Here is Grandma Shen, Jordan & Makayla.  Sitting so nicely and waiting for story time to start.
Story time started and the lady that tells the story is just wonderful!  She's very animated and so fun when telling the kids all the stories.  Could Makayla sit any closer?
Now she's up and participating in the story with all the other kids in front.  Her friend Jordan was a little hesitant to join her.  Maybe next time when she gets more comfortable.

After story time, they leave the room and get their hand stamps.  Makayla has also learned how to tip the storyteller in her glass jar after she gets her hand stamped.  Now she's just lounging in this chair on the floor reading her book.  What a good girl!

Mak's Crown

This is probably Makayla's first big project at her intro to summer school class.  What a pretty princess crown she made!  It had lots of pretty pink glitter on it.  She was so excited to show us and wear it!  She's lovin' it!  Like the Home Alone pose?

Ringling Brothers Circus

Here we are at the Honda Center to see the Ringling Brothers & Barnum Bailey Circus.  This is Makayla & Mylee's (our M&M's) very 1st Circus together.  Well, Makayla had gone to Circus Vargas earlier this year at the mall parking lot but it was so boring she fell asleep and we went home so it doesn't count.  This seems like it's going to be a real thrill and sure enough Makayla had a blast seeing all the Circus acts and animals performing.  Mylee on the other hand slept in my sling almost the entire show.  She's so easy to take along with us that we can continue to do these fun outings with Makayla.

We got her some cotton candy and it came with this silly top hat!
But Dad....that's MY cotton candy!
Had to show the elephants since they were hilarious!  They had a great act and were very talented but the audience was just cracking up because they kept on pooping everywhere! Every time they moved and did an act one would poopy, poopy and on and on and on!  It was so funny!

Oh look!  Mylee is finally awake for a picture of just the girls!

Daddy's Family Birthday BBQ

It's been a nice long fun birthday weekend in San Diego for Ryan.  Today the rest of the family came down to S.D. for a family birthday BBQ.  We also celebrated my Dad's birthday too since his birthday also lands on the same day as Ryan.  We usually celebrate them both together.  It was the first time all the Arakaki's came to visit at my brother's house too.  Binh barbecued really yummy ribs and chicken and we all had a feast!  It was a really fun day with the whole family.

This was such a nice picture of Makayla and Ba Ngoai that we had to show it off.  So nice!

The entire family eating good eats!  I think Som is missing since she's the photographer.
1,2, 3 blow out the birthday candles!  Of course this is one Makayla's favorite things to do and luckily Daddy and Ong Ngoai let her be in the middle of it all!
Mylee was asleep most of the day so she wasn't in any of the pictures so we added this solo one of her so that we all remember that she helped her Daddy & Grandpa celebrate their special days!

Another really nice picture of Makayla & her birthday Daddy!
Thanks Binh & Janai for all your hospitality and for the yummy BBQ eats!
