Mylee 4-months old w/ Mr. Pooh Bear

Another month goes by and we can't believe that Mylee is already 4-months old.  Here she is with her monthly picture with her Giant Pooh Bear so you can see her grow.  She's weighing in at 12 1/2 lbs. and 23 inches long.  She's still around the 25th percentile for both, just like her Big Sis Makayla.  She's currently sleeping through the night and drinking about 30 ounces of milk a day.  She is staying up for longer periods during the day and just smiles and giggles so much.  She's a super happy baby!  She also kicks a lot and waves her arms all over.
Always so serious in her pictures.  Getting big!
Big Sis has to be in on the action too.  Silly girl even went to find her little Pooh Bear to be in the picture with Mylee.

Our two adorable girls!  Makayla always wants to hold her baby sis so we figure the best and safest way is on the boppy pillow.

Disney's Playhouse Live

We took Makayla to see Disney's Playhouse Live today at the Long Beach Performing Arts Center.  It's a real neat theatre and we really like to see shows here.  Makayla was so excited to see her Disney friends that she sees on DVD's all the time.  Grandma & Grandpa Arakaki were so nice to volunteer to watch Mylee for us since we were planning on taking her like we usually do but she really doesn't know anything yet and it's more uncomfortable for her and for me with the sling.  Then I can fully pay attention to Miss. Makayla.

Beautiful day out in Long Beach!  Our little Miss. Giggles!
Makayla with Handy Manny and his tools.  Cute little prop for photos.
Here's a pictures of the most of the characters that were part of this show.  The Little Einsteins. Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, Pooh, Tigger, & Handy Manny.  They told a cute story.

Makayla is on top of the world after the show!  She had really fun time!

Up Close with Wild Wing

The Festival of Children's is still going on and the Duck's street team was going to be there with Wild Wing so Makayla wanted to go see him.  She knows him pretty well from all the hockey games she's been to.

We got to the mall a little early so we did one of the craft necklaces and then Ticked Pink was there again so Makayla got her face painted too. This time she wanted a monkey.  Pretty cute.
Then she put on her Ducks hockey sweater but Wild Wing was still not here yet. So we saw this whale and she actually wanted to take a picture with him.  I think it was for the Wyland theme since the artist was there painting with the kids.

Makayla finally gets to meet Wild Wing up close and personal!  She waited so patiently since he was probably an hour late.  He even autographed her hockey sweater!

Mylee's Gymbee

Mylee started playing a lot more on her little Gymbee.  Well, another hand me down from Big Sis Makayla.  She just loves it and is even starting to grab the toys above her.  She's still just rolling over about half way and can't seem to get completely over but we'll keep on letting her practice.  It's still early since babies are on their backs a lot more now due to SIDS so it takes them a little longer to roll and turn over.  We set this up on Makayla's corner spot on the couch so she's learning to share that section with Mylee better lately.

Juggler, David Cousin

We saw a famous juggler today at the library.  His name is David Cousin and he did some great juggling acts for us at the library theatre.  But he didn't keep Makayla's attention all the way through but good thing he was almost done since she was and I was getting ready to walk out.  We're so lucky to have such a great library in our city!  It's the best, especially for the kids.  Their story times are great and so is their children's section and their theatre and all the fun events that they put on for the kids.

Here we are in the theatre.  Met some nice people that sat next to us.  We took their family picture and they took one for us.
There's David in action with a blind fold over his head.  He was good but we're just not too into juggling.  He even used fire and cooked up and egg and juggled a bowling ball so it had variety but just not enough for us.  Then to find out he did a free show at the Festival of Children's at the mall but we already had tickets to this.  Darn.

Bows, bows, bows!

Our next door neighbor had a little bow party and invited us over to check it out.  Well, so much for just checking it out!  We ended up with a head full of bows.  Makayla was so funny and kept on telling me to put them one by one until every one of them was on her head.  This gal made super cute bows that were way cheaper and more fun then the average bow.  Thanks Floy for inviting us over!  Good times!

Silly girl!

Dance Academy

Another little update on our little ballerina.  Unfortunately her class did get cancelled and we had to find another day for her to transfer to.  Good thing we had to change because now she gets to be at the Academy which is a much nicer facility and she still has Ms. Kim as her instructor.

Practicing her little sunshine arms & tip pee toes before going to class.

I took Makayla to class with Grandma so that she would know where to go since we're so lucky that Grandma is willing to take her since I have to work.  It'll be a good bonding experience for them too.  We bumped into Ms. Tara from her preschool here too.  Her daughter is in the older class right before Makayla with her friend Mia.  So we bumped into Mia's Grandma Pam there too.  Again, what a small world!

Festival of Children's

There was a Festival of Children's at South Coast Plaza for the month of September.  I saw an advertisement and schedule for it in the paper and I had no plans this Sunday so I took Makayla since Ry doesn't leave the house because it's football season.  Don't ask how I deal with it but I do somehow.  It's actually kind of nice because it's been my day with Makayla and he watches Mylee at home so it works for us.

Just a nice photo of Makayla by the stage and the pretty orchids and flowers where there are performers getting ready.  It's the Ohmies today whoever they are....Yoga for kids people?  What people come up with to entertain kids!
They had free face painting by Tickled Pink!  They were awesome designers.  For some reason Makayla wanted a sun and the lady painted a beautiful sunset on her forehead.  What imagination from Makayla just saying sun.  They really specialize in painting your entire face as an animal.
A little close up of Makayla's face painting while she rides the carousel.

Her cousins Alyssa & Alexis came to meet up with her too!  They had all kinds of fun arts and crafts for the kids too.  They made some cute foam door knob hangers and bookmarks and a bunch of other little projects.  What a fun little afternoon the girls all had together!

Joanne's Diaper Cake

Tonight Som & I made a beautiful diaper cake for Joanne, her best friend that's having a baby girl early November.  I couldn't make it to the shower because it conflicted with other plans I already had.  We were very proud of our diaper cake since it turned out soooo nice!  We should sell them!  Do you know how much they run for?  Can you believe some charge $100+ for them?  Amazing!

Another quick story as to what a small world it is.....Som shared the photos with me since I couldn't make it and there was a girl there that was totally my roommate when I attended UCRiverside!  Craziness!  Turns out Joanne is sorority sisters with her.

Sleepyheads

The two sleepyheads are too cute!  Had to post this picture and tell you a cute little Makayla story.  When you ask her who she looks like she'll tell you Mommy because we both have longer hair.  Then you ask her who Mylee looks like and she'll tell you Daddy because they both have short hair.  Don't know where she comes up with these cute little stories.  So here's a look at the two twins!

Mylee's 2nd Set of Shots

Mylee had to go back to the doctor for a 2nd set of shots since there was too many at her 2-month visit and they can't get it all at once.  She had to get two more today.  Since it was just shots it's a quick visit and we usually wouldn't even have to have an appointment.  Mylee is one tough cookie.  The nurse gave her first shot and she just laid there with no reaction or cries.  It was weird.  Then the 2nd one went in and she wasn't happy at all!  But it was quick and she didn't cry long at all.

Our little Mylee right before the shots, waiting so patiently.  She's awake and so much more alert lately.
Big Sis giving her some hugs before the shots too.  Makayla is so caring and just loves Mylee and tells her it's going to be okay.  So cute!

Here she is right after the shots and back in her car seat to head home.  This picture is seriously a few minutes after her shots.  They really do only cry for a few seconds and it's over.

M&M's Hand & Foot Imprints

We got Mylee's little clay hand & footprint plate back today. We did the same thing for Big Sis too when she was a baby. They were both around 2 1/2-months old when we did it. This lady does such a beautiful job with them! We're so happy that they both have this now. We compared Makayla's hand and foot to her clay plate and she's a giant now! What a difference and how they grow so fast!  We compared the two and it looks like Mylee's foot is a little longer and Makayla's hand was a little bigger from each other.

Grandparents Day & Visit from NY Cousins

We celebrated Grandparents Day today with the family since we were out of town on our road trip up north last weekend on the actual Grandparents Day.  We just did a simple bbq and the girls got the Grandparents a nice little picture frame with a picture of them in it.  Mommy didn't have time to help us make anything big this year.  It was fun!  Then we had a nice little surprise visit from some out of town relatives which you'll see by their picture below.

Grandpa & Grandma Arakaki with M&M's.
Makayla being silly with Grandma showing off her new picture of the girls.
We didn't get around to getting a picture of Grandpa & Grandma Ly alone with the girls but here they are with our surprise visitors from New York, Julie & Tuyen (same spelling as my Dad but pronounced differently).  They are originally from France and moved to NY about a couple of years ago.  Tuyen's Grandfather Bac Hai visits us all the time all the way from France!  I've met Tuyen years and years ago when we were both very young.  It was good to see him again and meet his wife Julie.  We met up with them the next day also in Little Saigon to have some yummy Vietnamese food that they were craving and got to know them both a little better.  Thanks for visiting us while you were in town!  Also, Happy Grandparents Day to both sets of Grandparents!  The girls are so lucky to have you in their lives!

Baby Ballerina & Me

Makayla loves to twirl around and dance so we decided to sign her up for a little ballet class through the city. I even took her to get a few cute ballerina outfits at Target the night before and she was so excited!

Makayla getting ready to enter her and start her class.

This is Ms. Kim her ballet instructor. Makayla did so well for her first class and had so much fun! All the little girls were so cute, but there was only 4 of them and we need 6 in order for the class to continue......This is her friend Mia's instructor too and they said she's great!

Here's a video clip of her 2nd week when Grandma started taking her while Grandpa video taped. She actually did pretty well and does try a lot of the moves and listens most of the time. She gets a little side tracked but Grandma tries to get her back on track. There's still only 4 of them so the class is official cancelled so we'll have to move Makayla to hopefully another day if it fits into our schedule. Hope so since she's enjoying it so much!

Tears at School

A little update on Makayla and preschool.  We just came back from our little mini Northern California vacation and not sure what happened but all of sudden Makayla is really having a hard time leaving us, especially going to school.  We've had big cries and screams all week and it's been really hard on us and her!  She pretty much does it to us no matter who takes her to school.  She's crying so hard when we leave her there that it makes me cry too.  Really weird since she's loved it all summer in her afternoon class and her first week of fall classes.  I think we just got her out of her routine.  Hopefully it gets better soon and she adapts again and enjoys it once again too.  Her school staff has been so great about it, they've worked with us and have encouraged us to be strong and to keep at it and they call to give us updates as to how she's doing in the mornings.  She's been so sad that Grandma's have had to pick her up from school a little earlier and when they do she's real teary and asking for Mommy all the time.  Just another little phase we're going through.  Wish us luck with it.

Monster Park - 49ers vs. Cardinals

Our very last event in San Francisco and our road trip was a 49er football game!  It's usually really cold at Monster Park since it's right on the water but we really lucked out and it was a beautiful warm day!  We headed there a little bit early to catch some of the fun fan booths and events.

Can you believe we were right on the field?  Not, but it looked pretty cool and real didn't it?
Put your game face on!
Ry & his little sports fan just like him!

Daddy & Makayla are having a good time watching the game.  We had such a good time but it was a lot of work having both girls go with us.  There's no switching back and forth.  We each take one and when we wanted to eat or anything too it's even harder.  I will definitely need some time to recoup after this trip before I do it again!  Hard on the back and shoulders too since Mylee was pretty much in my sling the whole time.  After the game (which we lost!  Boo Hoo!)  we were on the road and headed home!  We were going to play this by ear if we were too tired or if the girls were too fussy to get a hotel and stay another night somewhere but we were good and so were our girls!  We just had to stop a couple of times for potty breaks and food. Overall, it was a nice little family vacation!

AT&T Park - Giants vs. Pirates

We all had a nice little nap after Fisherman's Wharf and before heading to AT&T park for the Giants ball game.  The game was lots of fun but we had a period once we sat down after walking all around the ball park to check everything out, eat & stuff that Mylee was super fussy.  She must have been tired and had some gas.  She ended up throwing up and not sure how it miraculously didn't get on  her or me?  Whew!  Since I didn't have a change of clothes for me.  She we a little better after that but then had  a dirty diaper and I had to go change her and of course Makayla wanted to come too so I had both girls.  It was hard!  But after she got it out of her system she just slept and was fine.  Good thing we really didn't have that many people sitting right next to us and had some breathing room for the girls.  We all survived!
The girls in their Giants gear ready to go!  Mylee is wearing Makayla's Giant's outfit from when she was a baby.  So cute!  The best little fans ever!
We drove into the game for the first time because of our girls.  It's too hard and too crowded to deal with the public transportation even though that's the easiest way and how almost every gets to the game.  Plus, we never know with two little one's if we will need to leave early so it's just easier to drive and everything be at our convenience.  But boy do they rip you off for parking!  It was $30!  Yikes!   But it was cool to be able to walk to the ball park through a different way to see McCovey Cove and take a picture with the Willie McCovey statue who was a former Giants player.  Must have been a good player if they named the whole Cove after him.
A family picture with AT&T park behind us.  This was such a nice walk from the parking lot to the ball park.
Makayla and the giant baseball mitt!  Again, another item that she sat in when she was a baby.

Our seats were great!  Super close to the field and in the very back row so we didn't have to worry too much about bugging the people behind us!

The Giants girls!  That's Makayla and her new Build-A-Bear Lou Seal!  That's the Giants mascot and when Ry & I attended in our days without kids I always said my kids will have one of those one day and here we are!  He's super cute and she loves him.  He even play "take me out to the ball game" when you press his arm.  This is real special since you can only get him at this ball park.

We left the game a little earlier to beat the crowd since they were losing to the Pittsburg Pirates.  We took our time walking out since there was lots of noise being made so they were making a come back!  A night view of the ball park behind Mak and her new buddy Lou Seal.  We listened to part of the game from here because it got exciting and we couldn't leave it completely and they ended up winning!  Yippee!

San Francisco - Pier 39

We slept real well and woke up early to head down to Fisherman's Wharf, Pier 39 before the big Giants baseball game tonight.  It was a beautiful day and not the normal gloomy day in San Francisco.
We've never walked across this nice little bridge that overlooks a lot of the city, maybe because we've never driven and had to find parking and this is how you get from the parking lot to the shopping areas down there.
Still on the bride walkway and look at the nice scenery.  That's Alcatraz right behind us.
Makayla with the Golden Gate Bridge behind her.  You gotta look real hard and close to see it.
Makayla's favorite part, the Sea Lions.  She kept saying "what's that smell?"  but she just loves them and it was worth the smell even though her little nose is so sensitive.
Both our girls with Alcatraz behind them.  What's new, Mylee is fast asleep through all this.

Getting a closer look at Alcatraz.

She saw the big candy store with barrels and barrels of taffy so she's been such a good girl we let her pick some out.

We finished up Fisherman's Wharf and Pier 39 and Makayla had another full morning and was tired.  We got in the car and was going to head to Ghirardelli Square but she fell asleep right before we made it there.  Then we decided to drive down the famous crooked Lombard Street. We tried so hard to wake her for this but it didn't work but it was cool that Ry & I got to drive down it.  We've been there many times but usually have just walked around since we never have a car so that was kind of fun to experience.
