Monterey Bay Aquarium

Our next stop on our road trip was Monterrey.  We stayed the night here and then woke up and headed over to the Aquarium.  The Aquarium up here is like no other!  It's so big and so awesome and Makayla just loves it and so do we!  We enjoyed quite a long day there.  We arrived when it opened and stayed until around 2ish which was around Makayla's nap time. Once we got in the car she fell asleep.
Makayla started off at the little area where she can touch and feel some of the sea life.  She was pretty brave and once Daddy did it like she told him she kept on wanting to feel them.  She was good.  Could tell me if they were soft, hard, bumpy or smooth.
Next we visited the penguins, but I think our favorite is still the cute little otters.
Heading into the kids zone and of course we had to show you that Mylee did go with us.  She's just always sleeping and so far so easy on our trip!  Her eyes are actually open in this picture with Big Sis!
The giant oyster shell.  Again, Makayla was just an itty bitty thing last time she sat in this shell so we had to take this picture for a comparison.  She's hard to take a picture of now.  Always making silly faces and doesn't sit still.

We found another area that she could touch the star fishy's and she was all over it.

On top of the world with the all the little silver sparkling anchovies swirling in a big dome tank above her and Daddy!  This pretty much ended our day at the Aquarium.  What a fun filled day. Boy did we all learn a lot and what an experience.  Makayla just loves the sea life!

We had to walk out to Cannery Row while we were there.  Got her some Dippin' Dots and then sat at the bench in front of Bubba Gump to eat it.  Here's Makayla & Forest with their "Box of Chocolates".  Now it's time to head up to San Francisco to spend the night.  It's about a couple of hours away and good thing Makayla is tired so she'll sleep most of the way up there.
