Happy Halloween!

Finally, Halloween arrives!  There's so many Halloween events that occur before the big day arrives!  So much October fun!  We had a some friends and family come over for a simple spaghetti dinner before we hit the streets for treats!  While we were eating we had  a lot of trick or treaters at our door already and they were so darn cute in all their fun costumes!  Makayla had a blast getting the door and handing out treats with her cousins and Auntie Som.

Makayla's friend and neighbor down the street Zoe was our first trick or treater.  She was so adorable in her pirate costume.
That's me & my girls!  I was a rag doll, Mylee was Squirt the turtle from the Disney movie, Nemo and our pink haired Dee Dee Doodlebop Makayla.  I usually dress up for work because I put on a costume contest so I guess I have to participate, which is nice since it gives me a costume to wear with my girls on Halloween.  Dad was a party pooper this year but I guess he can have a break since he was a trooper last year as tin man in our little Wizard of Oz theme.
Squirt and Auntie Som!  Meow!
Mia, Rachee and Makayla are on the streets for their treats!  Aren't they all so sweet looking?

While out and about Makayla bumped into her park friends, Jordan (Minnie Mouse) and Marley (Ballerina).  Looks like they're all choppin' on their candy already!  That pretty much ended the night for the girls.  They were only out for about an hour but had enough.  Everyone came back to our place to hang out and then everyone was pooped and called it a night.

School Halloween Parade

Makayla's very 1st school Halloween parade is today. This was a big morning for Makayla, it's not her usual day to go to school but when they have a special event like this all students are invited to attend so both Ry & I took her. It was so cute to watch all the little kids dress up in their costumes. Fun morning!

We dropped her off in her class room where they all got ready in their little circle time. Miss. Crystal is leading the circle and that's Makayla in the pink hair as Dee Dee Doodlebop. She's a little hard to recognize with that diva pink wig on.

All the parents waited patiently outside for the kids to start coming out for their parade. There's Makayla and Miss. Cassie started off the parade for the Blue room. I couldn't believe she was the little leader already! My big girl!

A little video clip for you to see the actual parade. It's a bit funny since it was pretty much chaos, but what do you expect, they're between the ages of 2-4. Super cute to me and they all had lots of fun!

Makayla holding hands with her buddy Jordan. They have really grown to be such good friends!

The Blue room group Halloween picture.

After the parade the kids went back into their class rooms for their party and Halloween craft. Looks like they're making a pumpkin face. Working with glue today. Makayla's pumpkin actually turned out okay and she had fun working with glue. We didn't stay long for the party since it was already a long morning and it seemed like she was ready to go home. She had a major meltdown when we got in the car all the way home. You don't realize that these little events, even if they're just for a few hours are quite overwhelming for our little ones. Too much excitement and probably tired too. Overall she had fun while it lasted.

Mylee 5-months old w/ Mr. Pooh Bear

Here's Mylee with her Mr. Pooh Bear at 5-months old already.  It's going by so fast!  Seems like it's so much quicker when you have two of them.  She's weighing in at 14.4 lbs. & 23.5" inches tall.  Such a big girl!  She's been awake a lot more in the day time now and really cooing, smiling, laughing and just talking to us.  She likes to have company and is a real happy baby.  She's super easy and plays for along time all on her own.  Still sleeping through the night so it's still been wonderful!  She's just bringing all of us so much joy and we just can't seem to stop smiling when we're around her!

Pumpkin Carving

It's pumpkin carving time!  Nothing like waiting to the last minute but it seems to be a little tradition of ours to always carve the night before Halloween.  We've done it a few weeks earlier awhile back and they always get so mushy and gross before Halloween.  First we had the two little pumpkins for Makayla & Mylee from Irvine Park a few weeks ago and then this week Makayla wanted pumpkins for Mom & Dad so I just took her over to the local one nearby on our way home from Target.  She ended up picking out two pretty big pumpkins for Mom & Dad.  So we had 4 pumpkins to carve and can you guess if my little Miss. Clean helped at all?  Not so much and Ry is not a big fan either of pumpkin carving and is usually just the artist so good I ended up carving them all and that's so not happening again!  For some reason Makayla was scared of them and didn't want anything to do with them once they were carved.  Weird!  It was still fun and entertaining because she just watched and said  it's dirty Mommy and smelly!  The good thing is all the seeds we got because I always roast them up in the oven to share with the family and there was plenty this year!  Some spray butter, salt and garlic!  Roast them up to crispies!  Yum!  Yum!
Mylee's lil' punkin! And her very first one!
This was Makayla's but she wouldn't sit or stand next to it.  That girl is such a little chicken sometimes!
Here's my fun creation!
Ry's creation and his silly pose!  He does get into it, just won't admit it but here's a picture of him and his work!
My girls once again!  Can't get enough of them together!  Mylee was up for the whole thing.
While I was carving, Ry & Makayla baked up some Halloweeny cupcakes!  She's such a big helper and loves being in the kitchen with us!
She helped decorate them too with these cool little spider sticks that she picked out from Target.

Our family photo on punkin carving night on the front porch.  Boo!

School Pictures

Well, Makayla had her very 1st school pictures done today.  If you've been following along our blog you probably know that she's been struggling still when I drop her off at school.  It's only for a few minutes, but it's still a struggle.  Well this morning wasn't any different and it happens to be on picture day.  I couldn't stay with her to make her better even though I really wanted too because she just gets more and more wound up when I'm there so it's sad but I drop and run off now.  It less painless for the both of us and she doesn't cry as bad if I'm just faster at leaving her.

Can you tell that she's just so sad in this picture?  Poor red little eyes from crying.  I guess they really did have a beachy theme but we already had this cute simple apple shirt for her to wear and didn't realize that it was going to be a full on beach theme.  It didn't matter anyways  since she was so sad.  Oh well there will be many more down the road I'm sure she'll be better as she gets older.

Here's her 1st class photo.  They are all so cute!  Can you find Makayla?  She's the one looking the other way and not at the camera man.  Those are her teachers in the back, from left to right, Ms. Krystal, Ms. Cassie & Ms. Chelsea.

Magic Show

The girls went to see a magic show at the library tonight.  He was pretty good and kept the all the girls pretty interested and entertained.  They always have so much fun together!

Here's Mia, Makayla & Alexis watching the show, well maybe not Makayla.  Always so distracted.
Alyssa joined the fun too!

Here's the magician doing one of his biggest tricks.  What do you think he's going to pull out of his hat?  Can you believe all the girls got out of their seats and went up on stage all on their own?  Getting so brave and so independent!  Do you see Makayla waving at the camera when she should be paying attention to the magician?
Now she's interested after he really pulled a real live bunny rabbit out of his hat!

Mylee's Bumbo Chair

Mylee is finally stable enough to sit in her Bumbo chair that Carylann gave her.  She seems to enjoy it but only for a little bit since I think she gets tired if it's for too long.  She's getting so big and is always so happy and smiling!

All smiles in her Bumbo!

What's going on here?  Big sis Makayla checking out Mylee's new seat too!  Thanks Carylann!  This chair is going to be great!  Have read good things about it so I hope it does strengthen her so she sits on her own in no time!

Boo at the Zoo

We found out about this Boo at the Zoo event from a friend and decided to try it out since we didn't have any plans tonight.  Our cousins join us too and everyone had fun walking around for little treats at the Santa Ana Zoo.  It was super mellow and we're not sure if we'd go again next year.  It was kind of pricey, $10 per person even the kids for not that much that they had to offer.  I guess it's a donation to the Zoo for the animals too so it was okay since they I've heard it's really not that exciting of a zoo and sure needs a lot of help.  I've never personally gone but I know Ry has taken Makayla and pretty much said they were not going back.
Alexis & Dee Dee Doodlebop Makayla!  She's such the little Diva.  This is her original choice for a Halloween costume this year even though you've seen her as Jasmine in all the other Halloween pictures.  The Jasmine Princess came about after this first choice when we told her about the Disney Halloween Treat event and all her girlfriends were going to be princesses.

Going through the crazy maze with Alyssa.  It was fun, we all split up to see who would come out first and guess who.....Alyssa won!

Makayla playing a game of put the ring on the pole at one of the treat stations for a prize.

Just all of us.

This was really the only animal we saw at this zoo event since it really didn't have anything to do with the animals.

Patty, Alexis and us leaving the zoo.  We had enough after the little costume parade but the girls didn't want to participate.

Ba Ngoai's Birthday!

We celebrated my Mom's birthday today at a new restaurant called Kona on PCH.  I think it's in Sunset Beach and it was the old Sam's Seafood.  We went for their Sunday brunch, which was Hawaiian Style with the whole family.  My brother came up from San Diego and Janai & her Mom stayed at our place from the crop marathon yesterday.  It was a totally fun afternoon!  Felt like we were in Hawaii at a Luau!

Ba Ngoai is so happy with her two girls!
Can you believe this is really the whole family?!  We've gotten so big and are so blessed that we can all get together and enjoy each other's company for these special occasion!
Can you believe that my mom is on stage dancing on her birthday?  What a sport!  It was so funny and I know she can shake it much more than that!  I think she was a little shy but who wouldn't be up on stage like that!
As always Makayla is always there to help blow out candles!  Especially birthday ones!

Our little family picture with the hula dancers.  Mylee is actual awake for another picture!  Yay since we don't have many pictures of the 4 of us together.

Lucy, Janai's mom got us to pose for this great family picture.  Thanks Lucy for getting us all together even though I'm sure there was some grudging!

Had to add this picture of our little Mylee....when we came home after brunch, Binh & Janai hung around to watch some football games since it is Sunday and if you don't remember, that's all Ryan does during football season is sit on the couch on Sunday's.  This must have been a special occasion for him to leave the house and his games.  Anyways, while we were hanging out my Dad was playing peek a boo with her and she was giggling and laughing really loud & hard.  Too cute!  She's just a happy, mellow baby and so easy going!  Well, Happy Birthday Ba Ngoai!  Hope you had a great birthday and enjoy your cruise to Mexico from us in December!

Scrappin' with My Peeps!

Our October Crop day was at the Red Bee this month.  They had a special Spooktacular event for Halloween from 10am-midnight!  Whoo whoo!  They were also holding a costume contest and we all participated with our team costume this year.  We got these really cute new brown t-shirts that have little chicks on  them and says "Scrappin' with My Peep" so we dressed up like Peeps!  I know, I know, super dorks! But thanks to Janai's mom Lucy for always coming up with these clever and super creative ideas! She designed and made the whole thing for all of us!  So sweet!  And it was all worth it since we won a $50 gift card that of course Lucy got to keep and then they had all kinds of other giveaways throughout the day and games and our group won quite a bit.  Fun, fun, fun day for sure!
Here's the whole peep gang posing for our group picture!
I'm the the rapper, Master Peep!

We also celebrated our October birthdays and that happens to be Stacy & Patty!  Yummy cupcakes that Janai, her mom & dad made for us!  Thanks for such a fun and productive day as usual peeps!

MyGym Trick or Treat

Makayla's favorite spot MyGym had a Halloween trick or treat event too.  So many activities for Halloweeny.  We met up with Jordan here too and the girls had so much fun!  It was pretty crowded with all the little ones and their cute costumes running around.
Makayla and her two instructors, Miss. Brianna & Mr. Michael.

It's circle time but boy is is a crowded circle today.  Their were so many kids that they just sat on their own without their parents.

Chiara & Mylee finally meet!  That's Jordan's lil' sis!  She's only about 5 weeks old here and Mylee is about 5 months old.  The two babies just chilled and hung out in their car seats while their big sisters played around.  They were both really good girls!

Have you ever seen a Princess act like a monkey like this?

Makayla's favorite thing!  Jumpin' in the ball bin!
Makayla and Mr. Gabriel, not sure what he's dressed up as with those little horns on his head?

It's time to trick or treat around the little shopping center around MyGym.  So nice that these stores all participated in this for the kids.  Good practice before the big day next week!

The whole MyGym crew going trick or treating too, but don't you think you're a little too old to be trick or treating? haha!  Thanks for such a fun event for the kids!  No wonder Makayla just loves her MyGym!
