Pumpkin Carving

It's pumpkin carving time!  Nothing like waiting to the last minute but it seems to be a little tradition of ours to always carve the night before Halloween.  We've done it a few weeks earlier awhile back and they always get so mushy and gross before Halloween.  First we had the two little pumpkins for Makayla & Mylee from Irvine Park a few weeks ago and then this week Makayla wanted pumpkins for Mom & Dad so I just took her over to the local one nearby on our way home from Target.  She ended up picking out two pretty big pumpkins for Mom & Dad.  So we had 4 pumpkins to carve and can you guess if my little Miss. Clean helped at all?  Not so much and Ry is not a big fan either of pumpkin carving and is usually just the artist so good I ended up carving them all and that's so not happening again!  For some reason Makayla was scared of them and didn't want anything to do with them once they were carved.  Weird!  It was still fun and entertaining because she just watched and said  it's dirty Mommy and smelly!  The good thing is all the seeds we got because I always roast them up in the oven to share with the family and there was plenty this year!  Some spray butter, salt and garlic!  Roast them up to crispies!  Yum!  Yum!
Mylee's lil' punkin! And her very first one!
This was Makayla's but she wouldn't sit or stand next to it.  That girl is such a little chicken sometimes!
Here's my fun creation!
Ry's creation and his silly pose!  He does get into it, just won't admit it but here's a picture of him and his work!
My girls once again!  Can't get enough of them together!  Mylee was up for the whole thing.
While I was carving, Ry & Makayla baked up some Halloweeny cupcakes!  She's such a big helper and loves being in the kitchen with us!
She helped decorate them too with these cool little spider sticks that she picked out from Target.

Our family photo on punkin carving night on the front porch.  Boo!
