3 Blind Mice Ballet Recital

This was a big day that we've been all waiting for.  Makayla's ballet recital.  Not just one in her classroom but a big production!  There was so much to prep before this day.  Costume fitting. Make up directions, hair, etc. etc!  All so worth just to see her up there!  Just melts your heart how darling she is!  Our precious little girl!

This was the practice run on the make up the night before since if you know me I'm so not a make up person at all.  I can barely put lipstick on myself let alone eye make up on my 3-year old.  I had mixed feelings about all this but I'm glad I just went with the flow and did it.  It's  just one day right?  And she loved it all.  She's super girly girl!

Very proud bun! Hard to do on silky slippery hair but I got it done.  It's gonna be covered by her little mouse ears anyways.
Isn't she adorable!  Outside at the community center before figuring out where we have to check in for dress rehearsal.  Still can't believe there's dress rehearsal and then a 2 hour wait before the big performance.  Too long for little one's to wait if you ask me.

Here they are all ready with Miss. Kim their instructor for the class.  Her other mouse friend is Mia.  They've become little  buddies.  Too cute!

Mia & Makayla again.  Boy, Mak's a shorty girl compared to her friend.

Backstage ready for our 1st dress rehearsal run.  They lined up so nicely!  Very proud of them.
Beautiful practice run girls!  Take a bow!  Bravo!
Shakin' her thing!  She was so cute I can't even describe it!
3 blind mice, she how they run!  I'm pretty sure Makayla was one of the smallest and youngest in the group.
She did great!  Flowers and all from the family after her performance.  Just like the real professional deal!  We're so proud of her!  She was great with her whole routine!
Proud Auntie & Uncle came to cheer her on and take great action shots since I was back stage.  Thanks Som!  You're the best!
The proud Ngoai's and little sis Mylee.  Mylee I heard really enjoyed the whole show and music and was boppin' up and down.
The other set of proud Grandparents, Stan & Jennie!

And of course Mommy & Daddy & sis are so proud of you!  Thank you everyone for coming and supporting Makayla.  She felt very special which she is!

Now, we're all headed to Irvine for some yummy Chinese food.  Peking Duck and lobster here we come!  Makayla being silly with her giant orange wedge lips!  She was so tired from her performance that she fell asleep in the car and stayed asleep for a bit in the restaurant also.  But this is happy her just after a quick nap!  That's my girl!

What a fun celebration.  This was a little gift I found for Makayla.  It was perfect!  A little mouse in a ballerina outfit just like she was!  And it plays music.  She loved it!  What a fun day!

Pool Day

We had another pool day today.  Looks like we're gonna have lots of these this summer!  Here's Ryan with Makayla and her new magic goggles.  She's really going under and staying down for awhile now!  She's all ready to really swim soon!  It's really clicking with the lessons and all the extra swim time we've had too!  So far we've been out there at least twice a week!  Yay for summertime!
Here's a video clip of Makayla and her Daddy working on going under.  She loves it!  I think Ry's face might look sillier than hers!  They're too cute together and have great pool time while I play with Mylee or watch her while she's sleeping since she does a lot of that.  We get her all ready for the pool and then she falls asleep.

This was an under water picture from Alyssa, her cousin's new cool camera!  If you can believe it, it looks just like a regular camera.  It's pretty amazing!  Another new fun toy to play with!
Here's a video clip from her cool camera under water also.  They all has so much fun at the pool today!

All Geared Up!

I had my scrapbook day with the girls today and my M&M girls had a fun bonding day with their Daddy & Uncle Alan since Auntie Som also scrapbooks with me.  Look at Makayla all geared up!  First they had pool time and then decided to go shopping afterwards for these cool goggles since she's loving her swim time and actually going under water quite a bit!  Looks like they also bought her a soccer goalie net that's strapped around her chest in it's special bag.  She is all geared up for swimming and now soccer!  She's one lucky girl!  She just loves her time with her Daddy and Uncle!

Thanks guys for taking such good care of my girl and having fun with it!  Makes me really enjoy my scrapbook days and not have to worry about a thing at home!  Love you guys!

Gary's 40th

It's Uncle Gary's 40th birthday party today!  Auntie Melanie invited us all over to their place for the taco cart to celebrate!  Makayla was so excited to go to see her friend Rachee!  There were lots of other kids also so it was fun!  Auntie Melanie had a room just for the kids with coloring, movies and games!  A totally kid friendly house for sure!  It was a nice and relaxing party!

Here are all the girls kickin' it in the front yard with their taco plates!  Even Mylee had some of the meat!  Yummerz!  Mel used the same taco lady that Juliana's uses for all her parties!  Good choice!

After the girls had their dinner Uncle Gary said they could play with the bunnies.  Yes he has bunnies.  Two of them one.  One playful, one not so playful.  Here's Makayla feeding one of them a yummy snack.  She was thrilled.  Kept on telling me how she had a bunny in class one day also.  These kids do remember everything!

Here's Gary and his friend Jerry celebrating their 40th's together.  Don't know the two guys on the left but that's Gary in the cream colored shirt in the middle and his buddy Jerry to the far right.  He had a lot of friends there to help them celebrate!
Oh boy and celebrating here alright with some shots!  Not sure what they had but Mel kept telling me not to try it.  It's very, very, very old.  I always thought liquored tasted better over time but maybe not in this case.  Instead we had a few tequila shots with one of their other friends that made is super yummy and chilled in the kitchen.  It was so smooth!  Mel also made good Sangria's that night too!  We need more chill get together's like this one!  It was fun!

Here's my husband in heaven!  Playing the Wii with a kid on the big projector screen.  Don't they look comfortable!  Gary's got stadium seating.  Pretty awesome movie theatre they have right in their living room.
Hostess Auntie Melanie with her little Mylee.  I can't believe Mylee's letting her hold her.  She's so particular as to who holds her lately.

Auntie Stace and happy, happy Mylee!  Happy Birthday Gary!  Thanks for the invite, we all had so much fun!

Makayla's Starts Swim Lessons Again

It's that time for real swim lessons again!  We started up Mak's lessons with Miss. Brianna again this year.  We started her last summer and she was just getting it a little bit but then it got cold and we ended the lessons till this year.  She was able to blow bubble last year and get a little more comfortable in the water with someone besides mom and dad.  Miss. Brianna is her instructor at My Gym so she loves her!  She's great with the kids!

She's got her little kick board and ready to go!  She's super ready and super excited this year!
Mylee bear coming out to watch just like Mak's been watching her this past week at the city pool.  She gets excited also and seems like she wants to jump right in too!
Jumping in and splashing with Miss. Brianna!

Look at her go!  Not bad for her 1st lesson of the season!  I think she's gonna get it this year.  She's really listening and trying everything that Miss. Brianna has asked her to do.
All done!  That 30 minutes goes by quick!  We'll have more days where we can stay longer after the lesson but we have plans tonight to head to Uncle Gary's 40th birthday so chop, chop now for a quick bath and off we go when Daddy comes home from work.

Preschool End of Year Party

It's Makayla's end of school year party.  I can't believe it's the end already.  She's going to miss her blue room teachers and friends.  Some will be moving with her to the yellow room but some are a little older and going right to the green room so she won't see them as much.  It's been such a good year and she's had so much fun and has learned so much!  We're so glad we stuck with it and she got to finish since it was a rough start for us last year.

It was  a very low key party but fun.  The kids got to have a little otter pop as their fun snack today.  Listen to them do their little prayer before they eat.  It's so sweet!  I love it!

Here's Amy, Donna, Mimi & Myself with our gifts from all the kids and the school.  We were all the room Mom's and helpers of the memory books that we made for all the kids and their parents.  The aprons were absolutely adorable! They had a hand print from each child from the blue room.  And on the top was embroidered "SCC Mom"  We were really appreciated!  It was nice of them!  I had so much fun getting to know these mom's and the many others that also helped throughout the year!  Thank you!

Makayla and I checking out our memory book!  I never got to see it all year long and it's just beautiful!  We love it!

Bye, Bye Miss. Cassie!

Bye, bye Miss. Krystal!

Bye, bye Miss. Tami (owner of the school).

Bye, bye Miss. Tara, she greeted us each morning and afternoon at drop off and pick up!
What a fun little party!  We'll see you one last time on Monday for the real last day of school! Thanks for such a great year!

Mylee's Parent and Me Swim

Told you our Tuesday wasn't done with yet.  Boy this is the busiest day ever for us.  Just the transition in classes too.  It'll get better I promise! haha!  It's Mylee's turn for her swimming lessons.  We tried to get in, in the spring but it was too full.  It might of been too cold anyways.  Well we got in for the summer through the city for a little parent & me swim class.  We're super excited to see how she does in the pool!
Here's cutie pie Mylee in  her swim suit.  This is the same one her big sis Makayla wore when she first started these same classes.  But I think Makayla might of been a little younger.

Me & my girls!  Getting ready to get in!  The city pool is indoors and heated so it's pretty nice.  The only thing is that it's full of chlorine!  And the echo when the instructors talk.  Overall though the class is great!

Yay, she loved it!  We sang a lot of the nursery rhyme songs and did little fun things with all of it!  One of our favorites was "Tick Tock" where she was thrown up in the air!  She really enjoyed all of it except for maybe "Humpty Dumpty"  I don't think she cared to be out of the pool and got cold to jump in!  I dunked her too and she did okay.  Not too bad for our first pool time!  She did so much better than Makayla when she first started these classes but then again she's a little older.  Here she is with her instructors.  I forgot their names already.  Sorry.

Hula Lessons

Boy, it's been a busy day for little Miss. Makayla and her Grandma Jay!  First it was ballet, library and now hula class.  And there's more after too for little Mylee.  Just keep reading and you'll see.  It's going to be hectic but fun summer!  We just gotta get the schedule down.  I never got confirmation from the city about her getting into her hula class so I decided to finally call today and check and sure enough she did and it's starts today!  Ahhhh!  Poor Grandma.  I told her so last minute since I've been so busy at work that I forgot to check.  Anyways, Grandma was great about getting her ready real quick to run over for her first hula lesson.  I showed up right after work to catch the last of it and looks like fun!  So cute all the little girls.  Her friend Gracie from school is also in the class and I heard Ryan's buddy from high school also has his 2 little girls in it.  Very small world!  We'll see how this goes.  Should be another fun and cute thing for us to watch Makayla do!  We're looking forward to this since Ryan's family is from Hawaii!

Library Summer Reading Program

This is the 2nd year that Makayla has been involved in the summer library reading program.  Grandma Jennie takes her the library all the time already so this is an added bonus that she gets to redeem the readings for some weekly prizes.  She really enjoys her library time and has really learned to love books!  This is a fun day where there's face painting, balloons and a bunch of other activities too to kick off the program.

I made her a sandwich but I guess pizza sounded better.  haha!  Looks like she already got her face painted already too!

Here she is doing some crafts with her friend Jordan and her Grandma!  Looks like the girls had a fun day!

Last Ballet Class

It's Makayla's last ballet class today before her big recital.  This was her 2nd ballet class and she had a blast!  She moved from the Mommy & Me to this big girl class all on her own and she did fantastic!  Thanks to Grandma Jennie for taking her to all her classes!  She had a wonderful time!

Here she is clapping away with all her ballerina friends.  Her hair is all tight and up in a bun like the requested before her big performance but why does it seem like she's the only one with it in a bun?  I guess we're the only one's that follow directions. haha!

The girls also got their mouse costumes today to try on for the recital.  They are just too adorable!  Miss. Kim gave all the performers a cute little rose that said "Good Luck" on it!  Makayla was so excited to get this from her!  The costume fit her just perfectly!  Now their ready for their big performance next week!  Makayla loves her ballet but decided that she wants to take some time off and try hula for the summer.  We'll see how that goes and what she likes better.

Daddy's Day

Well it's Daddy's Day!  I came home just in time for the family celebration at Roy's in Anaheim!  Seems like this brunch is going to be a fun family tradition for us!  Any excuse to eat at Roy's is fine by me!  We woke up and the girls gave their Daddy a nice polo shirt with a customized photo of them on the top right hand corner.  It was nice and a little dressier than just a t-shirt like they've given him in the past to go eat to Roy's.
Mak's got her meal down!  Or did she jump to dessert already?  She had a yummy little egg, bacon and yogurt parfait brunch.  They had a great 3-course menu for us to choose from today.  Most of had their butterfish which is my favorite dish there!  The appetizers and desserts were all delicious!  They also gave all the Dad's some gift cards for us to come back!  Can't wait until we can use those since we can't let it go to waste.
Daddy and his girls. They also got him a little coffee mug with more of their pictures on it.  And Auntie Som gave him this giant fortune cookie.  The girls had on matching "Daddy's Girl" shirts and capris and converse on!  It was so cute!  Auntie & Uncle also gave us a photo collage of their wedding for our house too!  Can't wait until we find a spot for it.

Daddy, Makayla & Uncle!  What a nice picture of the 3 of them!
My Mom & Dad enjoying his new camera we got him!  Hope he loves it!  He was in need of a new one bad!
And Stan is happy with his wine!  Such a simple guy!  Makes it nice & easy!
The whole family at brunch.  There's a few of us missing but you all know who everyone is.  The usual!  It was good to see Binh & Janai too since they leave for their trip to Africa next week for a whole month!  Yikes!  They're gonna have so much fun and we're gonna miss them!

Dad & Grandpa's with their two M&M girls!  So cute!

Our famila!  It was such a great morning so far!  Hope Daddy is enjoying his special day!  He's the best Daddy ever!

We've been waiting for him to open this bad boy up!  It's so yummy!  Thanks Som & Alan!  What a fun treat!  Happy Daddy's Day!
