The Wiggles

It's a very exciting day since we're going to see The Wiggles at the new Nokia theatre. It was a really nice theatre across the street from The Staples Center. We took Makayla and her cousins joined us also! They all had a blast seeing The Wiggles sing and dance. There were lots kids at this show and quite the crowd too!
Here's our usual Ohana picture before going into the show. It was a beautiful day out!
Here is Makayla and her cousin Alexis and Alexis's friend Catherine.
The 3 girls all dressed up in their new Wiggles t-shirts! Too cute!
Daddy & Makayla right before the show started in their seats!
Can you tell she's just having a blast! She's in the aisle with some of the other kiddos dancing around! We were glad we had aisle seats so she could do this! We couldn't believe how much fun she had!

Here are the 4 Wiggles just in case you don't know who they are since I know I didn't until I had Makayla and started figuring out what kids like! They are from Australia and apparently pretty popular with the kids! Their songs are great and ever since Makayla saw them she can't get enough of her Wiggles. She watches their DVDs in Daddy's car and she listens to their tunes in Mommy's car since Mom doesn't have one of those fancy DVD players. It's been a good time getting to know The Wiggles more and more! It's unbelievable how fast Makayla is growing and really expanding her vocabulary. She knows all these songs and who sings them too! Not just The Wiggles but all others children's songs and characters that are out there! Smart girl! You pretty much tell her once and she remembers it! She especially loves to sing and dance to all of it with her microphone and stage at home! Our little ham! Love, love her! We're so glad she's enjoying all the events that we're taking her to! It's a good time for us too!

Katie's 3rd Birthday

It was my friend Katie's 3rd birthday today! She's a friend that I made in our community playgroup that we still keep in touch with. Her Mom's name is Christine also and they're a super nice family! She's got a lil sis named Allie and we all have fun playing together! Her party was so much fun! It was Dora the Explorer themed party and boy did her Mommy go all out! She's a teacher so she's super creative! You'll see from the photos below.

Here I am at my 1st station where I got to make a Dora bracelet! It was pretty yellow beads with a blue flower! So nice! Katie's Grandma helped us at that 1st craft station.

Here I am at the next craft station where we made Maraca's with a couple of clear plastic cups put together and we filled them up with pretty colored beads and animals. I shook it up and made all kinds of noise. Once she taped it all together I got to decorate the outside with pretty, pretty stickers and put my name on it. This station was hosted by Katie's auntie that came to this special birthday all the way from Colorado!

They even had a huge Dora bounce house! So much fun bouncing around with all my friends!

This was the last craft station where I was pretty much on my own. It was Dora foam stickers and I made a pretty picture to bring home to Daddy since he played in a softball tournament today so couldn't join the Dora party with me! Then her Mom had a little scavenger hunt for us to find the birthday cake. It was all so neat and so creative! Before all that I did fit in some yummy pizza and all kinds of other yummy foods! Thanks for the invite and Happy Birthday Katie!

7 1/2 Months Preggies

Here's Mommy at 7 1/2 months pregnant with my little sis! I'm always hugging and kissing Mommy's tummy! Daddy's been trying to take photos each month to see how she's growing in Mom's tummy but we keep on forgetting. At least we got a few in here and there. Can't wait until she arrives! "Big Tummy" Mommy!

Egg Hunt & BBQ

It's now egg hunting time! The Dad's did hide all the eggs for us, but they didn't hide the real eggs we colored, just the plastic ones that were filled with goodies for our piggy banks! Good stuff! They said we had way too many eggs to hide them both. It didn't take long for all of us to find our eggs this year since Alexis & I are now pros since it's our 2nd year at this! I think my cousin Alexis is still a much quicker egg hunter than I am.

This is my new blue hippo bubble maker that Uncle Alan & Auntie Som got me. Yet another Easter basket. I think this is my 3rd one today! I'm such a lucky girl! So loved!
A hunting I will go......I'm confident I'll find lots since I have two Easter baskets to fill up!

Alyssa, Alexis & Makayla! What cutie pies showing off their baskets full of eggs!

Our Easter Ohana picture!

Mommy baked a yummy carrot cake for us today too. Really good stuff! All the grandparents also came over and we had a family BBQ for Easter. Real mellow and fun! Always a blast with my family!

Easter Sunday Egg Decorating

It's still Easter Sunday but now we're onto my very 1st Easter egg decorating session! My cousin Alexis & Alyssa came over to color eggs with me too.

Here I am dunking my very 1st egg in some pink coloring. This is pretty fun.

I'm now going to draw on this egg that's already been dyed. This is really getting fun now!

By the looks of all the eggs, you think I got the hang of it?

Here are my Aunties that gave me my very 1st lesson! Lissa & Som. We had so much fun coloring our eggs! I was so happy that I got to do this! What a treat and it wasn't even that messy even though we got all our newspaper spread out! We ended up coloring over 2 dozen eggs since it was so much fun! Wonder who's going to hide all these for us??? All the Dads are just sitting and watching TV right now so I think we should vote for them to hide them for us!

Easter Sunday Breakfast

It's Easter Sunday morning today and boy has it been a busy, busy weekend so far with Auntie Lissa visiting from Oklahoma and Auntie Melanie's bridal shower and now Easter! I don't think Mommy and her friends realized this was all happening this weekend when they first started planning the shower.

Here is Ms. Mak and her goodies from the Easter Bunny when she woke up.

We went to good old IHOP for breakfast with Auntie Lissa. Don't we look so cool in our shades? It was a gorgeous day out!

When we came back from breakfast, I got to open another Easter basket, this one is from my Auntie Janai & Uncle Binh! Lots of goodies in this basket! They're the best! Thank you!!!!
There's more Easter stuff to come in the next few blog entries....so stay tuned......

Melanie's Bridal Shower

Auntie Melanie's bridal shower is today at our clubhouse. It was a beautiful shower and Auntie had a wonderful time! Lots of good friends and family to help her celebrate!

This is one of the games, can you guess what it was? Who was the most beautiful toilet paper bride? Is it Rachael, me or my cousin Alyssa? I think we all won since Auntie couldn't decide because we were all so cute! How could she resist!

Here is Auntie Melanie looking so fabu with her yummy cake!

Here are all her girls that helped make this beautiful shower happen for the soon to be Mrs. Reeves! We hope you enjoyed your day! Only less than 2-months away until the big day! Can't wait!

Easter Bunny

We almost missed our annual Easter Bunny visit this year since we've had so much going on with getting ready for our new Arakaki Baby arrival and Easter ended up coming so early this year too. But Mommy managed to remember a few days prior to Easter Sunday and we went over to Crystal Court to visit the floppy eared Bunny. I was hesitant at first but then finally stood next to him and smiled for a nice picture. He was nice after all!

Since I was such a good girl, Daddy took me to ride the carousel too! What a treat!

Big smiles, Makayla & her Daddy! Cute picture Daddy!

Relaxing & Ohana Reunion

Today was our last day in paradise. It sure went by quick. Today we decided to relax since we have been on the go since we got here. Since Makayla was having issues with the sand and getting dirty we decided to venture to the pool. She had a blast!

Posing by the pool.

Riding on daddy's shoulders.

Getting some exercise in since I haven't been to My Gym in a couple of weeks.

After a relaxing day at the pool we went to the Willows Hotel to have a mini reunion with family and friends. This was Makayla's first time meeting most of daddy's cousins, aunties and uncles.

Makayla in her pretty dress.

Here is Mak with some of her relatives and her buddy Tayler.

After a long night it was back to the hotel to pack up and check out some of the gifts that Mak got. Here she is holding her Hello Kitty. It was a great trip and I can't wait to come back. Maybe we can make this trip every couple of years to see the family and next time to introduce my baby sister. Aloooooooha!

Waikiki Aquarium, Zoo & Paradise Cove Luau

Today we decided to check out some fun places for Makayla since she has been such a trooper going to all the places mommy, daddy, grandma, and grandpa wanted to go. We started off early in the morning going to the Waikiki Aquarium. Makayla had a blast seeing all the sea animals.

Makayla getting ready to go in and see all the animals.

Wow! Those are some big fish behind Makayla. I'm surprised she wasn't scared.

Here she is getting to hold some hermit crabs. She made daddy go first and then she wasn't afraid any more.

Hawaii's state fish and grandpa's favorite; humuhumunukunukuapua'a.

After having so much fun at the aquarium we decided to go across the street to the Honolulu zoo. This is where grandpa took uncle all the time, but a lot has changed since then.
Here we are entering the zoo.

Mak and mommy in front of the turtles.

After having so much fun looking at all the animals in the morning Mak took a nap before heading out to her first luau at Paradise Cove. This is the same place that mommy and daddy went to on their honeymoon.
This lady made me a pretty lei headband. Mahalo!
Here she is sporting here new turtle tattoo and being a ham.
A picture with mommy and our matching anklet/bracelet.

Here is Mak watching the ceremony to take the pig out of the ground and get it ready for dinner.

Having a cold one since I've been running around all day.

I had a blast at my first luau. Thanks everyone! Aloha!

North Shore Drive & Eating

Today we headed out for a scenic drive around the island and lots of eating. We were determined to try some local dining and boy did we find some gems (thanks for the tips Uncle Alan). Our first destination was Kailua-Kona for breakfast, but along the way we decided to stop at the famous Pali lookout.

Here we are in front of the sign in the parking lot.
Here we are at the lookout with the beautiful scenery in the background and our breakfast destination. Can you tell it was very, very windy?

We finally arrived at our breakfast destination. Yay! I worked up an appetite in the car since it was about a 45 minute drive from Waikiki. Daddy got the last street parking spot.

Here is a picture of the onolicious pancakes that we had.

Nothing like a good passion fruit drink to wash down the pancakes, Portuguese sausage, and hash browns. That was the best breakfast I've ever had.

After breakfast we decided to visit great grandpa and grandma. This was Papa's mommy and daddy.

Here I am saying a prayer with Papa.

Our next stop along the coast was China man's Hat for a potty break and to stretch out our legs. They call it that because it is shaped like a China man's hat.

Here is our family photo with me being silly. See the China man's Hat in the background.

After our little break we kept on driving up the coast and stopped at Giovanni's shrimp truck. We were still full from breakfast so we all split one plate of shrimp since we just had to try it.

Me and dad in front of the truck. Too bad we didn't have a Sharpie to sign the truck. Next time we will bring one.

Here is the place of our delicious shrimp scampi. I loved all the garlic seasoning.

As we continued our drive towards the North Shore we stopped at Ted's Bakery. Mama read about their famous chocolate-haupia cream pie so we decided to stop and pick up a slice. We were lucky and got the last parking spot in the small lot. We were still full from the shrimp and pancakes so we took it to go. Also, we knew what our next food destination was so we just had to save room.

Here's dad with his slice of pie.

As we continued along the North Shore we saw lots of big waves and even stopped along the highway to check out the surf at a couple of beaches. They weren't too big, but they were still around 5 foot swells. After checking out the surf we stopped in the small town of Haleiwa for the world famous Matsumoto shave ice. This was one of the main reasons for our road trip today. Daddy has been talking about it since we planned our trip so I couldn't wait to try it.

Here we are in line. Yes, the line was out the door and again we got the last parking spot in the lot.

I got dibs on the first bite of shave ice. We got it with ice cream and azuki beans.
This is good stuff dad. It's ono!
After taking a nice break for some shave ice we started to head back to Waikiki, but not before stopping at the Dole Plantation. On the way there I decided it was a good opportunity to take a nap.

Here I am in front of the train mommy and daddy wanted me to ride. I was still in deep sleep at the time so they decided to walk around.
Look! Several minutes later I woke up and we rode the train around the plantation. Yippee!
Here I am being silly with mommy. Aren't we are the best looking pineapples?!
Finally, here I am with some Saigon Red pineapples from Vietnam. Mama and Papa found them while I was on the train and mommy said I had to take a picture for my other grandparents. What a long day of driving and eating. Now off to the hotel to sleep.
