Makayla is all ready for her BIG trip to Hawaii! We are all so excited! This is going to be quite an experience traveling on a longer flight with our little 2-year old. We are visiting the Big Island first for 4 days and 3 nights. Let's see how we do as I blog our trip for you to see. Aloha!
BTW, it's Grandma Arakaki's birthday today! HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAMA! We celebrated with some dinner with the rest of the family before we left on our trip! I think she's enjoying her birthday so far! How could you not traveling to Hawaii! What a treat!
Here's our big girl at LAX and her very own luggage that Ba Ngoai bought her. It has her coloring books, crayons, play doh and reading books to keep her occupied for the flight. She was such a good girl pulling her own luggage.
We arrived at Kona airport! Yay! The airport is all outdoors and so small compared to LAX. Nice art work of the Hawaiian dancers. Makayla poses and is being silly in front of it! She was so glad to be free and be able to run around after being cooped up in the airplane.
When we were still at Kona airport, Makayla got her very first Hawaiian Lei! The lady was so nice to put it on me! It sure is hot here already! I was a really good girl on the flight. I only slept for about an hour of the flight but then I played with my stuff and was pretty content. I don't think I bugged people too much.
We were very hungry once we got our luggage and headed to our hotel since the flights no longer feed you anymore. We stopped at Pine Tree Cafe to have some lunch. It was yummy and our 1st island foods once we arrived! Can't wait for more local foods to come while we're on this trip!
We made it to our resort Waikoloa Beach where we stayed at the Marriott. It was a really nice area with lots of shopping and stuff too! The resort is super nice and so was our rooms! The bed was so comfy and our room was connected to Grandma & Grandpa Arakaki. Loads of fun being able to run from room to room! It was pretty much just a travel day today since once we arrived and settled down, took a nap and it was time for dinner and that was it!
After our nap since we didn't sleep too much on the airplane, we went and had ramen noodles at the Queens shopping center after walking around a bit to see all the shops. Again, yummy local island food! Now it's time to relax and get lots of rest for a full day of site seeing tomorrow!
