Here we are in front of the sign in the parking lot.
Here we are at the lookout with the beautiful scenery in the background and our breakfast destination. Can you tell it was very, very windy?
We finally arrived at our breakfast destination. Yay! I worked up an appetite in the car since it was about a 45 minute drive from Waikiki. Daddy got the last street parking spot.
Here is a picture of the onolicious pancakes that we had.
Nothing like a good passion fruit drink to wash down the pancakes, Portuguese sausage, and hash browns. That was the best breakfast I've ever had.
After breakfast we decided to visit great grandpa and grandma. This was Papa's mommy and daddy.
Here I am saying a prayer with Papa.
Our next stop along the coast was China man's Hat for a potty break and to stretch out our legs. They call it that because it is shaped like a China man's hat.
Here is our family photo with me being silly. See the China man's Hat in the background.
After our little break we kept on driving up the coast and stopped at Giovanni's shrimp truck. We were still full from breakfast so we all split one plate of shrimp since we just had to try it.
Me and dad in front of the truck. Too bad we didn't have a Sharpie to sign the truck. Next time we will bring one.
Here is the place of our delicious shrimp scampi. I loved all the garlic seasoning.
As we continued our drive towards the North Shore we stopped at Ted's Bakery. Mama read about their famous chocolate-haupia cream pie so we decided to stop and pick up a slice. We were lucky and got the last parking spot in the small lot. We were still full from the shrimp and pancakes so we took it to go. Also, we knew what our next food destination was so we just had to save room.
Here's dad with his slice of pie.
As we continued along the North Shore we saw lots of big waves and even stopped along the highway to check out the surf at a couple of beaches. They weren't too big, but they were still around 5 foot swells. After checking out the surf we stopped in the small town of Haleiwa for the world famous Matsumoto shave ice. This was one of the main reasons for our road trip today. Daddy has been talking about it since we planned our trip so I couldn't wait to try it.
Here we are in line. Yes, the line was out the door and again we got the last parking spot in the lot.
I got dibs on the first bite of shave ice. We got it with ice cream and azuki beans.
This is good stuff dad. It's ono!
After taking a nice break for some shave ice we started to head back to Waikiki, but not before stopping at the Dole Plantation. On the way there I decided it was a good opportunity to take a nap.
Here I am in front of the train mommy and daddy wanted me to ride. I was still in deep sleep at the time so they decided to walk around.
Look! Several minutes later I woke up and we rode the train around the plantation. Yippee!
Here I am being silly with mommy. Aren't we are the best looking pineapples?!
Finally, here I am with some Saigon Red pineapples from Vietnam. Mama and Papa found them while I was on the train and mommy said I had to take a picture for my other grandparents. What a long day of driving and eating. Now off to the hotel to sleep.
