Hanauma Bay

It was our first full day on Oahu and we started off the morning early to have breakfast at the famous Zippy's, you'll notice that we ate here a lot during our stay on Oahu. It's nice & simple and totally kid friendly and open 24 hours a day. We had to start early to head over to Hanauma Bay, this is where you can snorkel or walk right on in the water to see all kinds of fish. The Bay is soooo nice! Makayla got to see all kinds of fish! Her favorite! We did have one minor incident. Grandma fell going down the steps since there were sooo many and it was pretty steep. She ended up spraining her ankle so that was kind of a bummer, but she made the stay at the Bay and just sat on the beach while Makayla played. Thanks Mama!

Daddy & Makayla in the water checking out all the fishes! Breezy but warm day out! Too bad Makayla wouldn't stand in the water on her own because she didn't care for the sand at all! Grandma even got her water shoes too! Don't know what that's about because she's played in sand before at Dragon Boat so who knows...Bummer for us since Hawaii is all about beaches and sand but we had to find different things to do which was fine.

We tried sitting her right in the sand but she was not happy with us at all and wanted up right away.

Bye and Shaka with Hanauma Bay behind us. What a gorgeous day at the Bay! We had fun!

After Hanauma Bay we had time to go swimming at our hotel pool for a bit. It was a nice pool but for sure not as nice as the pools on Big Island. While we did this we let Mama rest up her foot and take a nap. Hopefully she's better when she gets up, but not so much. The swelling seems to be more so Papa took her to the hotel doctor to get it checked up on. That took awhile so we walked around the International Market Place across the street from our hotel and then had a nice snack of gyoza at a little Japanese restaurant. Then Mama was finally done getting checked up on by the doctor. They gave her a wheelchair and gave her a brace for her ankle. This should help a lot on the rest of our trip. Good thing we did most of our walking on the Big Island and not much needed here on Oahu. Sorry this happened Mama! By now it was pretty late so of course we ended up at Zippy's for a quick dinner since Mama & Papa didn't have dinner yet either and we just had a snack. Still a good full day for us!
